Beau Knows Wiffleball. Beavers Deliver Donkeys First Loss.

Beavers 3, Donkeys 1

ENNISKILLEN — The Burketon Beavers defeated the Enniskillen Donkeys 3-1 on Wednesday evening in a game with all three runs driven in by the same player.

The Beavers posted three runs in the top of the first and did not score again. The Donkeys answered with a single run in the second and did not score again. The third inning produced nothing for either side, which the scorer recorded as accurately as the preceding two.

Beau went 4-for-5 with two home runs and struck out zero times. Both home runs accounted for Burketon's scoring, in full. No other Beaver needed. Chad finished 1-for-5 and Justin 1-for-5, with neither recording a home run.

"We spread it around tonight," said Beau, who drove in all three of his team's runs himself.

For Enniskillen, Chris went 4-for-5. Observers on hand credited Chris with solid defensive work throughout. Austin finished 1-for-5. Neither Donkey struck out. The Donkeys' bats were otherwise described by those present as quiet, a characterization the line score supports, as the club scored merely once.

"The bats almost came alive in that second inning," said Chris, whose team scored one run in the second inning and none in the first or third.

The result leaves both clubs at 2-1. The Beavers arrive there having lost 4-0 to these same Donkeys last week, a game in which Burketon did not score at all, and having beaten the Turkeys 3-1 the same evening. The Donkeys, who shut out the Cows 5-0 last week, are now on a 1 game losing streak.
