Four Teams. One Night. Enniskillen Immortality.
The regular season built the rivalries. Playoff day will settle them.
On Wednesday, October 14, the Enniskillen Wiffle Ball League enters its first postseason—and every swing carries the weight of a championship dream. Four teams remain. Two semifinal battles stand between them and the title game. By the time the plastic stops flying at Sunny Ridge Field, one team will have claimed the first championship in EWBL history.
The Donkeys arrive with a target on their backs. The Beavers have something to prove. The Cows bring enough firepower to wreck anyone’s plans. And the Turkeys need just one afternoon to turn a difficult season into an unforgettable story.
The standings have set the bracket. Now the players decide who survives it.
Game 1 - 6:09pm - Enniskillen Donkeys (1) vs. Tyrone Turkeys (4)
The Donkeys enter as the team to beat after a ruthless 7–1 regular season, scoring a league-best 74 runs and closing on a five-game winning streak. Austin lead the league with a .712 batting average and brings 10 home runs into the postseason, while Chris adds a .679 average and six homers to an offence that offers precious little breathing room. Their two regular-season meetings with Tyrone ended in 14–1 and 6–0 victories. But the Turkeys arrive fresh off a 7–5 win over the Beavers, with two questions that could change everything: can Dan return from injury, and can Dean rediscover his pitching dominance when it matters most? Dan’s .613 average and seven home runs would give Tyrone a dangerous weapon—but his availability remains uncertain. If Dean can take command and silence Enniskillen’s relentless bats, the Turkeys could drag the favourites into a battle they never saw coming. Enniskillen has earned favourite status. Tyrone has a chance to make it mean absolutely nothing.
Game 2 - 6:39pm - Burketon Beavers (2) vs. Courtice Cows (3)
Burketon and Courtice have already traded blows—and their semifinal has all the ingredients for another fight to the finish. The 4–4 Beavers took the first meeting 8–5, before the 3–5 Cows answered with a narrow 5–4 victory. Beau anchors Burketon’s attack with a solid .649 average and seven home runs, backed by Chad’s late season surge of four homers. Across the bracket, Lee brings the league’s most dangerous home-run swing: 13 blasts to go with a .667 average. Derek adds a .658 average and five homers, giving Courtice a formidable punch of its own. The Cows’ latest game was a wild 15–14, five-inning loss to the Donkeys—a reminder of how far their bats can take them. With Burketon coming off two straight defeats, both teams have unfinished business. Only one gets to carry it into the championship.
The semifinal winners advance to the championship game (7:39pm). The other two teams meet for third place (7:09pm), with pride still on the line and one last opportunity to leave their mark on the inaugural season.
Bring the noise. Bring the nerve. Bring a swing worthy of the moment.
Enniskillen’s first postseason is here. The trophy is waiting—and somebody’s name is about to become part of league history.
